How many hsl codes are there?

HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) is a color that represents colors in terms of three components:

• Hue (H): The type of color, represented as a degree from 0° to 360° on the color wheel.

• Saturation (S): The intensity or purity of the color, ranging from 0% (gray) to 100% (full color).

• Lightness (L): The brightness of the color, ranging from 0% (black) to 100% (white).

Since each component can take on multiple values, the total number of possible HSL color codes is extremely large. Practical example:

• Hue: 361 possible values ​​(0°–360°)

• Saturation: 1% increment → 101 possible values ​​(0–100%)

• Lightness: 1% increment → 101 possible values ​​(0–100%).

Total HSL information:

361 (H) × 101 (S) × 101 (L) ≈ 3,681,461 possible HSL color codes.

This huge number of combinations allows designers and developers to create millions of unique colors with precise control over hue, saturation, and brightness. HSL is a specialty in web design because it is intuitive and makes it easier to adjust colors than RGB or HEX codes.
